Kindergarten Grading Policies
Students will be assessed according to the following grading rubric:
3 (80%-100%): Student is consistently applying this skill
2 (70%-79%): Student is inconsistently applying this skill
1 (below 69%): Student is not meeting expectations and intervention is needed
2 (70%-79%): Student is inconsistently applying this skill

In Kindergarten, we use a variety of ways to collect data to assess your child.
We use “Common Assessments” to check for understanding of major topics in Math and Reading.
We use “Exit Tickets” at the end of each lesson to assess a daily understanding.
We administer the NC state mClass Reading assessments 3 times a year to check for reading fluency and comprehension.
We also administer the State Math Benchmarks at the end of each quarter to check for understanding of the quarter’s math goals.
