Classroom and School Information
School Fees
Fees are $7 (unless waived). These fees cover the purchase of consumable supplies, gym and playground equipment, etc. There is also a $35 technology fee. Both of these fees can be paid online on www.schoolcashonline.com.
School Hours
Students may be dropped off as early as 7:15. Any student not in his or her classroom by 8:00 will be counted tardy. School dismisses at 2:30 each day.
B.E.E. Folders
This folder stands for “Bring Everything Everyday” and will be used as a daily communication tool throughout the school year. Inside of your child’s B.E.E. notebook you will find our classroom newsletter, notes from the office, class schedule, money pouch, homework, your child’s daily behavior report and much more. It is important for you to check your child’s B.E.E. folder every day (including Friday) and initial in the calendar. Please place any notes for the office or myself in your child’s B.E.E. notebook.
Data Folders
Data folders will be sent home at the beginning of each week. Inside of this folder you will find your child’s class work from the previous week. After reviewing your child’s work, please sign off on the front of the folder, remove all work, and return the folder the following day. You can work with your child on any skills they had a hard time with from the work in the folder.
Medication
All medicine, including over-the -counter medicine (even cough drops), must be accompanied with a medication form and a doctor’s note. Please do not send any medication to school in your child’s book bag. You must personally bring the medicine to the office and complete the paperwork. We are not permitted to give medication unless we have a form.
Absences
If your child is absent for any reason, please write a separate excuse note and place it in the BEE folder.
Transportation
Please let me know about any transportation changes as soon as possible. It is best if we have a written note that morning. Please make sure you write a separate note and place it in your child’s B.E.E. folder. We are not permitted to send a child home a different way without a note. Transportation changes can not be done over the phone. Please be aware that if your child is a car rider, they will not be able to be picked up unless the driver has a car tag in their window. If you need a car tag at any time, please let me know.
Breakfast & Lunch
Our scheduled lunch time is 12:20-12:50. Lunch is free for all students. You may send the money with your child or you can pay this online. If you send lunch money, please label it accordingly and place it in the zipper pouch inside your child’s B.E.E. folder. If you need a Free and Reduced Lunch application, please let me know.
Communication
You may send notes in the BEE folder, email, use Dojo or call with any questions or concerns. I check my email and Dojo throughout the day. I am unable to answer the phone during the school day unless it is an emergency.
Additional Reminders
✦ Please refer to the school rules and procedures listed in your child’s student handbook. This handbook should cover any and all questions you may have regarding Churchland Elementary’s rules.
✦ Any time there is a change in your telephone number or address, please let us know as soon as possible. It is very important that we keep your child’s information up to date in case of a sudden illness or emergency.
